In the class newsletter for 12/04/09, there was a mistake in the right column. The sentence that begins "Monday the 18th..." should say Friday the 18th! Our last day is the 18th (Friday) and the students are dismissed at noon. I apologize for the error. Mrs. Cardoza
I'm Mrs. Cardoza and I will be your child's teacher this year. After receiving my Bachelor's degree in German from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon, I joined the U.S. Air Force where I was trained in metrology (the science of measurement). I spent most of my six years of duty in Germany. After my military experience, I worked on government contracts, including work on atomic clocks and GPS (Global Positioning System). I also took math and science courses in night school, thinking that I would pursue an engineering degree. Ten years ago I had the opportunity to home school my son during his 5th grade year. I originally thought that this would be just a year's "sabbatical" from the world of electronics. I found that I thoroughly enjoyed teaching. It was through this experience that I realized that God was calling me to teach.
A good education requires the work of both parents and teachers. I thank you for entrusting your child to me and look forward to working in partnership with you this year!
